Children’s Ministry

We have a thriving children’s ministry for children aged 4-11 at Wonga Park. Our children join our church services at the beginning of our services, where we have a special children’s talk for them, after which they join our regular Sunday School ministry. We use a rotational model to teach our Sunday School lessons, where the same story would be taught from multiple different angles over several weeks. These might include a story being read, a model being built, a play being acted, an art project being created or an experiment being conducted. This gives the children a much deeper appreciation for the lesson being taught, and takes our lessons beyond simple moral teaching, to deeply embedding the stories of the Bible in our children’s minds.

This ministry meets during school terms during our church services, and runs in both our hall and our Sunday School rooms. Visitors are most welcome.

Youth Ministry

Wonga Park Christian Reformed Church we are passionate about supporting parents in their primary role of growing their children as disciples of Jesus (or Christ-learners)!

To do this, we aim to develop relationships with parents, as well as running family based events that aim to equip parents with the resources they need to foster faith within the family. We also run a number of teenage and children specific programs throughout the year that provide an opportunity for youth to engage positively within the wider community of God’s people.

Growth Groups

We believe that Growth Groups are the lifeblood of a disciple growing church community. We have several growth groups that meet during various times throughout the week.

Each growth group is similar in that we meet together to pray for non-believers and for each other, we study scripture together and we support one another.

Each group is also different, some groups are age based, some are cross-generational, some are focused on a specific time of life, others are more ad-hoc. But all are dedicated to helping its members take the next step in their faith journey.

We would love each of our members to be part of a growth group. If you would like to join one, please contact our administrator by emailing admin@wpcrc.org.au and we will connect you.

Prayer Ministry

The prayer ministry in Wonga Park consists of three parts;

Prayer Meetings

Regular prayer meetings are normally held on the second Monday and fourth Tuesday of the month. However, during this lock down period they are held roughly once a week on different nights of the week via Zoom. This is to make it available to as many people as possible. The time and date of the meetings are published in our regular newsletter.

Prayer Chain

This is designed to give people access to a group dedicated to praying for anyone with an urgent need at any time, day or night.

Service Prayer

This part of the ministry consists of people who pray for the pastor at the start of his preaching and who also make themselves available at the end of the service to anyone who would like to be prayed for. This is only available during physical gatherings for church services.
